Meet Our Staff
J.B. Boren
Associate Pastor (Adult Discipleship/College)
J. B. joined the staff of FBC in March, 2026 after retiring from a career in higher education as a Professor and Dean. He currently serves as Associate Pastor of Discipleship and College, which includes Senior Adults, Men’s and Women’s ministries, the Sunday School program, and University ministry. JB is married to Jennifer (1989) and has four grown children, Will, Brice, Callie, and Ryan. He has a BS (Texas Tech, ’87), an MS (Baylor, ’88), and a PhD (Texas A&M, ’93).
Gary Solomon
Assistant Pastor of Music
Gary has been on staff at FBC Canyon since 2001 and currently serves as our Assistant Pastor of Music. He is a Canyon native who graduated from West Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. He is married to Julie and they have three children: Hannah, Lydia, and Nathan
Director of Preschool Ministry
Jordan Easom
Jordan joined the staff in April 2022. She currently serves as the Director of Preschool Ministry. She graduated from West Texas A&M. She is married to Jordan and they have four children: Jed, Josie, Jeter, and Joel.
Lydia Solomon
Director of Children's Ministry
Lydia joined the staff in June 2023. She serves as the Director of Children’s Ministry. She graduated from West Texas A&M University with her degree in Communication Disorders. Her joy is partnering with families for the purpose of bringing children into a transformative relationship with Jesus Christ, by helping them growing in their knowledge and love of God and his people.
Steven Olsen
Senior Pastor
Steven has served as pastor of FBC Canyon since 2011. He is married to Jayme, and they have two children, JP and Reagan. Steven is a graduate of West Texas A&M (1994), Dallas Theological Seminary (2002), and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (2024).
Drew Taylor
Associate Pastor (Families/Students/Missions)
Drew joined the staff of FBC Canyon in October 2016. He currently serves as our Associate Pastor. His primary responsbilities on staff are leading the discipleship ministries and missions. He has been married to his wife, Lindsay, since June 2005. They have four children: Noah, Luke, Anna, and Reid. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Scott Robinson
Financial Administrator
Scott joined the FBC Canyon staff as the Financial Administrator in September 2012. Scott is a lifelong resident of Canyon, and he received a bachelor’s degree in Marketing at what was then known as West Texas State University. He is married to Vickie and they have two children, McKayla and Zach.
Vickie Robinson
Ministry Assistant
Vickie joined the staff at FBC Canyon in August 2011. She has served in several capacities since that time and she currently serves as a Ministry Assistant in the church office. Vickie is a native of Lazbuddie, Texas. She is married to Scott and they have two children, McKayla and Zach.
